Prioritizing Health and Wellness 

Hey there! We’re Roy and Jess—a couple who, like most people, got swept up in the chaos of work, social plans, parenting, and all the usual day-to-day stuff. With everything going on, taking care of our health and fitness slipped way down the priority list, and we started feeling pretty disconnected from our bodies and overall well-being. That all changed when we decided to hit pause, put our health first, and take charge of our wellness journey.

The Turning Point

It all kicked off in May 2024 when we decided it was time to focus on living healthier and rethinking what really matters in life. We wanted to grow together, create a positive and supportive space for our daughter, and show her what a healthy, happy life could look like.

For years, we struggled with staying consistent when it came to fitness. Sound familiar? We’ve been there trying and failing to make it stick. But over time, we figured out how to break free from the typical “fitness rules” and started redefining what being healthy actually means for us.

After diving into research and soaking up knowledge from fitness pros, we built a plan that actually worked—for our bodies and our lives.  Jess convinced Roy to train her, and before long, he discovered a newfound passion that completely transformed his life.

Balance was born from the belief that true “balance” begins with prioritizing yourself. It’s not just an idea we embrace—it’s the foundation of everything we do and what we’re here to share with you.

The Journey

Jess and Roy started Balance Fitness with a simple idea: mix strength training, consistency, and a strong mindset to create a healthier, happier life. Waking up at 4:45 AM every weekday became their go-to routine to focus on themselves. They paired their workouts with a high-protein diet, meditation, visualization, good sleep, and some solid self-care and connection time.

For them, fitness isn’t just about hitting the gym—it’s about growing mentally and emotionally too. Their sessions became a way to stay positive, shake off stress, and boost not only their health but also their parenting game and overall happiness.

 

The Results

Life’s looking totally different these days. Jess is feeling stronger, full of energy, and ready to take on anything. She’s dropped some stubborn weight, is glowing with confidence, and feels unstoppable. Roy made some amazing progress too—he’s tackled his anxiety head-on, built up his resilience, and found his confidence again with a mix of strength training and mindfulness. Focusing on our health together has brought us closer—not just as partners, but as parents and as our own people. Now, we work out as a team, swap wellness tips, and celebrate every win, all while staying fired up to help others who are on similar journeys.
