Ok, girlfriends- it’s time to get real for a second. How does the word CONFIDENCE make you feel?
If you’re anything like me, it’s… complicated.
There are some areas of life where my confidence flourishes; there are others where it is fleeting. There are certain days when my confidence soars and moments when it all sails out the window.
Is it the same for you? Have you ever wondered how we reclaim, seize, and keep our precious confidence?
Well, look no further as I have just the book for you.
My sweet and inspirational friend Tricia Lott Williford has written You Can Do This: Seizing the Confidence God Offers.
Tricia’s storytelling is hilarious and heart-warming. Her raw vulnerability encourages us to evaluate our own. She approaches the complicated topic of confidence with love and experienced (but not assumed) insight. Most of all, I love her REAL TALK. There is not one ounce of fake in these pages and what she shares is profound.
In this book you will have multiple moments of “Aha!” and “YES!” and “Thank you, Jesus!” as she touches on issues such as (but not limited to):
- Knowing Your Identity
- Appreciating Your Beauty
- Feeling ALL the Feels
- Sharing Your Kindness aka Operation: Smile First (One of my favorite chapters!)
- Setting Boundaries (Ok, this one might be my favorite!)
- Being Present
- Choosing Vulnerability (Alright, so it’s a 3-way tie!)
- Putting Fear in its Place
- and Passing Your Brave Along
Above all, Tricia reminds us where (or from WHOM) our confidence truly comes when she jokingly admits that she considered entitling the book “You Can’t Actually Do This but God Can If You’ll Trust Him with the Journey and Believe All Confidence Is Miraculously from Him, So Get on Board Because He’s Better at Everything Already and What You’re Doing without Him Is a Waste of Time and Energy.” 😉
She also reminds us that Jesus is passionately FOR US and desires for us to have lives of abundance. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10)
When Jesus is our anchor, our heartbeat, our cheerleader… how can we feel anything but confident?
Friends, this book is simply incredible. It answered questions I didn’t even know I had. The words felt like a loving friend tenderly guiding me back to North. The pages were like a warm embrace that released with a gentle push to go out and be the best woman God created me to be. I pray confidently that it will be the same for you. (See what I did there?) 😉
“So turn around, face your life, and jump in with all the strength you have and all the confidence you were born with. You have everything you need to begin, and we the sister-hood are here, cheering you on.
Girlfriend, you can do this.” (Tricia Lott Williford, You Can Do This)
