Relationships make the world go around. We, as humans, were created to form relationships, which is why it is such a powerful and imperative piece to our growth and overall happiness. But, as I dig deeper into the concept of “Balance”, I am finding that sometimes, it is absolutely necessary to be alone.
Not just in the car by yourself on the way to work. Not just in the shower (I’m making an assumption here. ;)), but truly face to face with the person that you are. And often, (like most areas of balance) this “alone time” does not happen without being intentional about where to go to find it. Everyone needs their own unique Happy Place.
It may sound cliché, but to me, a Happy Place is somewhere you can go to “get away from it all.”
I’m certain that looks different for each one of us. It can be somewhere you go every day, every week, or every year. For me, at this point in my life, I need to keep my Happy Place very separate from my day-to-day routine. This place should be somewhere you can feel your breathing slow, you can hear yourself think, and the world stops spinning quite so fast.
Are you picturing your Happy Place right now? You’re smiling, aren’t you? Did you feel your blood pressure drop just a bit? 😉 Tell me about your very own Happy Place.
